Swap idea is child’s play

OLD toys will be new again when the Rotary Club of Yarraville holds its first Toy Exchange this weekend.

The brainchild of club president Scott Reinemann, the free exchange gives families the chance to swap toys that are in good working condition.

“Toys can be expensive and there’s a good chance you probably have a pile of toys that your children don’t even look at any more,” he said.

“Families can come along and exchange toys, and any that are left over will be donated to local charities just in time for Christmas.”

Take along your books, dolls, puzzles, stuffed animals and teddy bears and see what might you might find to take home.

The day also features free family activities such as facepainting, a jumping-castle, balloons and a petting zoo. The Toy Exchange, supported by the Seddon Bendigo Bank and Yarraville Club, will be held from 9am-1pm this Saturday at the Yarraville Club.
