New federal Lalor MP Joanne Ryan has been named opposition deputy whip and deputy chair of caucus.
Ms Ryan said the positions would allow her to play a greater role and help her learn more about the parliamentary system.
“In doing so, I can better represent and advocate for the issues that matter to our community.”
