The world’s longest-established AC/DC tribute band is playing in Williamstown to mark Bon Scott’s birthday. The late singer would have been 71 on July 9.

Aussie DC, formerly known as Dirty Deeds, has featured Altona Meadows’ own Alfi Rocker on vocals since 1990.

“One of the things I love about AC/DC, beside the fantastic music, is the fact that they are not posers, not pretentious like almost every other successful band,” Rocker said. “They come across as five working-class men – that’s just my style too.”

Aussie DC is performing at the Rose of Australia hotel on July 7 with a special guest from Sydney, Tony Currenti who played drums on AC/DC’s first album

High Voltage.

Aussie DC will perform tracks from both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras. The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost $20.

The following night another tribute band, Bon But Not Forgotten, will play at the Yarraville Club. The band features former AD/DC drummer Simon Wright and bass guitarist Mark Evans.

Wright joined AC/DC after the departure of Phil Rudd in 1983, while Evans played on the albums

T.N.T, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Let There Be Rock.

Doors open at 8pm on July 8; tickets are $38.
