Confident Communication for Women workshop in Williamstown

Women of the west are being offered the chance to become more confident communicators at an upcoming workshop.

Professional development expert Carol Fox is keynote speaker at the Confident Communication for Women workshop in Williamstown on June 22.

The workshop outlines practical techniques to use in interactions with colleagues, clients and life outside work.

It will also give tips on building confidence during one-on-one conversations, as well as in front of an audience.

Sara Borowiak, Victorian ambassador for the League of Extraordinary Women, says the main message is to encourage women to “stand up, walk tall, and be heard”.

“We are very passionate about women in leadership and in business in the west, as we are both locals,” Ms Borowiak says.

“We think it is particularly apt timing, with all the important changes regarding women’s involvement in government and sporting organisations at high levels, and with gender issues coming to light across many industries and entities, such as the AFL, with the introduction of the new women’s league.”

Confident Communication for Women runs from 9.30am until 4.30pm next Wednesday at Seaview Williamstown Events Centre.
