A stray baby deer on the loose in West Footscray this afternoon has been apprehended after leading authorities on a chase through the streets.
Investigations are continuing into how the deer, spotted running down Rupert Street about 3pm, came to be in the area.
Maribyrnong Council officers and local police were part of efforts to recapture the deer, successfully cornering the startled animal in nearby Elphinstone Street.
