Williamstown’s Eddie Galizi has an extra 20,000 reasons to be smiling after winning $20,000 on Millionnaire Hot Seat.

The semi-retired corporate chaffeur took home $20,000 in winnings during the Tuesday, July 12 episode of the hit TV show.

Mr Galizi said he was “rapt” with the result.

He and his daughter Olivia registered to take part in the show at the same time.

“I watch the show all the time with my daughter,” Mr Galizi said.

While Olivia competed in the February 22 episode, she did not win any money.

He said that while he came home with a money prize, she answered more questions than him.

“I did end up winning the Fastest Finger First round on the last question,” Mr Galizi said.

With a win in the Fastest Finger First round, he had a lifeline up his sleeve, which came in handy during his penultimate question as he was able to swap the question.

The $20,000 question was about which state contains the Denali National Park and Preserve.

Mr Galizi knew the winning answer was Alaska because he had visited the state.

He said the experience was “fantastic”.

“I can’t remember a whole lot of the episode, so I am hanging out to watch it,” Mr Galizi said.

He said he and his wife were planning on using the winnings to take a cruise along the Panama Canal.
