Williamstown MP Melissa Horne and Early Childhood Minister Ingrid Stitt visited a number of kindergartens in August to celebrate a number of funding commitments with families and staff members.
The Range Children’s Centre in Williamstown received over $300,000 to build a safe and modern outdoor interactive playspace.
“We’ve seen massive funding in our local kinders and childcare centres, including $600,000 to both Newport Gardens Early Years Centre and One Tree Altona North Children’s Centre for expansion and upgrade works,” Ms Horne said.
“I was so pleased to be able to visit the Range, as well as Robina Scott Kindergarten and Home Road Kindergarten with the Early Childhood Minister Ingrid Stitt recently to see the amazing works that are being completed.
“Both Robina Scott and Home Road are receiving over $180,000 in Building Blocks Grants from the Andrews Labor Government to build more inclusive and accessible playsplaces for our kids to enjoy.”
To help every child reach their full potential, the state government is also introducing a play-based year of learning called ‘Pre-Prep’.
The state government has also announced they are making kinder free for three and four-year olds, saving families up to $2,500 per child every year – delivering immediate relief to household budgets.
