Footscray night markets are back this December, promising amazing food and entertainment for the whole family.
The Night Market will be on each Friday night starting on December 3 and running until Christmas Eve.
Each market will feature a different cuisine from around the world, starting off with Africa which will be complemented by performances by African Artists from the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
Following on the market will travel to Asia, with Bollywood performances and Lion dances, followed by an Australian showcase with indigenous food offerings and smoking ceremony.
Finally, on Christmas Eve, residents can enjoy food from all over Europe, with Christmas carols, gift stalls and an appearance from Santa himself.
Mayor Anthony Tran said: “It’s summer, we’re double vaxxed and Festival City is back once again! We’ll be kicking off the fun with the Footscray Night Market which will be running with COVIDsafe guidelines. Come down and enjoy the food and drinks at the local restaurants, and dance your heart out in the streets!”
The Night Market will be held at Railway Reserve, Footscray, and residents can enter via the corner of Nicholson and Irving streets.
