Holy grail coming to Highpoint

Highpoint Maribyrnong visitors will be able to see the 2022 Isuzu UTE A-League Men Championship trophy in person, as well as meet a number of the key 2022 team players.

After launching at the Woodgrove Shopping Centre in Melton today (Friday, September 2), the tour will be stopping at the Maribyrnong shopping centre on Monday, September 5 and running until Sunday, September 11.

Club midfielder Alessandro Diamanti said the event will be a chance to show their gratitude to the club’s supporters.

“I have been with this club since the beginning and we want to thank all the people that believed in us,” he said.

“We want more people to join us and build our young club for everyone to enjoy in the west.”

Club right back Josh Risdon will be at Highpoint on Tuesday, September 6 from 4pm.

“All the boys will be out and about, meeting the fans and getting ready to challenge for more silverware for the club in the future,” he said.

“We’ve got the best fans in the league and we want more people to get around us and get involved in football.”

Goalkeeper Jamie Young will also be speaking to fans on Tuesday, September 6, with forward Connor Pain and left back Ben Garuccio joining the trophy at Highpoint on Thursday, September 8 from 4pm.

The team are gearing up to start their Championship defence on Friday, October 7 against Melbourne City and will then play their first home match in the 2022-23 season the following week.
