Last call for film festival entries

Entries for the Altona Beach Film Festival close on Thursday, June 30.

The eighth Altona Beach Film Festival is calling for final entries showing vision in film-making.

President Annette Stephens said this year’s theme is ‘vision’, with entries to be no longer than seven minutes.

“It is open to anyone, from zero to infinity is our age range,” she said.

Awards will be decided by a panel of expert film makers based on artistic quality, originality and production skills.

Awards are available in under-13, under-21 and open categories including:

* Best in Show – $1000;

* Special Recognition Award – $600;

* Best Young Adult Film (ages 14 to 21) – $300;

* Best Pre-teen Film (up to 13 years of age) – $200;

* President’s Encouragement Award – $100; and

* People’s Choice Award – $100

A $30 entry fee applies for open entrants, a $20 fee applies for under-21 entrants and a $10 fee applies for under-13 entrants.

Entries close on Thursday, June 30 ahead of the gala award presentation and film screening on Saturday, August 20 from 7pm at the Altona Theatre.
