The west’s Learning for Earning Festival is back and will provide jobseekers with skills to help with employability.

The free event will run from May 25-26, and will feature a series of writing sessions, marketing workshops, business promotion strategies and mock job interviews.

Participants will also have access to three online forums, opportunities in the west, meet the major employers in the west and want to work in local government forum.

Wyndham deputy mayor Jasmine Hill encouraged residents to utilise the events to upskill and learn about different pathways to employment.

“Residents can participate in mock job interviews to hone their skills, participate in an introduction to online job searching or participate in social media workshops. There really is something for everyone,” Cr Hill said.

“This year, the LearnWest network is running events that provide practical advice and assistance. There are so many workshops and forums residents can attend that will help assist them in their future employment.”

The Learning for Earning Festival is a joint program created in collaboration with LearnWest, Wyndham council, Brimbank, Darebin, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong and Melton city council.
