Police remand Williamstown man with drug and theft charges

Police have remanded a 37-year-old Williamstown man after allegedly locating drugs and property stolen from a nearby vehicle on his person.

An Eyewatch – Hobsons Bay Police Service Area spokesperson said police observed a “suspicious” male on Douglas Parade on Sunday, June 19.

“A search of the male located drugs as well as property stolen from a vehicle nearby,” the spokesperson said.

“Until contacted by police, the owner of the property was not aware his car had been broken into.

“A 37-year-old Williamstown man was remanded in custody on drug and theft-related charges.”
