Positive test for Altona Gate worker

A worker at Sacca's Fine Food at Altona Gate has tested positive.

A worker at Altona Gate shopping centre in Altona North has tested positive to COVID-19.

Sacca’s Fine Foods, the fruit and vegetable market and continental deli, said the infected employee last worked on Sunday, July 12.

“Sacca’s Fine Foods in Altona Gate has been in communication today with the Department of Health and Human Services, after a staff member tested positive after being asymptomatic,” management said in a statement on Friday.

“This staff member last worked on Sunday [July 12] and has since not been at the store.

“As a precaution it has been decided that to ensure the protection of all staff and customers that we will close the store until further notice.”

It comes as Victoria records 428 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday, with the total number of cases now at 5165.

Hobsons Bay has 53 active cases, six more than yesterday.

Earlier this month, Altona Gate’s Telstra store was closed after a worker tested positive to COVID-19.
