Special school holiday camps, sports and other activities will help keep young vulnerable Victorians engaged during the summer holidays.
Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay kids will have access to these activities thanks to the Victorian Government who will provide $270,000 in funding.
There will be 24 targeted programs that will give 780 young people the chance to participate in culturally appropriate day and overnight activities.
Young people will be assigned a mentor to provide guidance and advice, who will continue to support them beyond the summer camp.
Minister for Crime Prevention Natalie Hutchins said: “School holidays can be difficult for many young Victorians – particularly for those from challenging backgrounds. These programs will help them stay on track through a range of tailored activities and programs.”
“By supporting young people, we’re creating a better future for them, their communities and all Victorians.”
