Families are delving into a new treasure trove of toys at Maidstone Child and Family Centre.

Program officer Bec Gelsi said the toy library, officially launched on Saturday, opened as a second branch following the success of the toy library at West Footscray Neighbourhood House.

Aimed at children from newborn to eight years of age, the toy library lets members borrow from a large line-up of toys.

Ms Gelsi said the Maidstone opening has been eagerly anticipated by families, with some of the toys featured in a window display since the building opened following a $4.7 million redevelopment 18 months ago.
