The times of COVID-19 exposure at Woolworths Millers Junction in Altona North have been broadened as health officials’ concern about the site grows.

The health department said the venue is a tier one exposure on multiple dates and times, with anyone who visited the site on Wednesday, August 18 between 2pm and 11.30pm, on Thursday, August 19 between 11.30am and 11.59pm, and on Friday, August 20 between 12am and 3.50pm required to get tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days from exposure.

COVID-19 response commander Jeroen Weimar said yesterday that the site was a particular concern for health officials.

“If you were in that area, if you didn’t use the QR check in, please let us know,” he said.

“I really ask everybody to please check those exposure sites, and if you’re in that area, come forward and get tested.”

Mr Weimar said the Newport and Altona North cluster – which as of yesterday had 68 active cases linked to it – was a continuing concern for health officials.

“It’s quite a large scatterfield now,” he said.

Meanwhile, there have been additional tier two exposure sites identified in Altona North and surrounding suburbs.

The health department said anyone who has been to a tier two exposure site is required to get tested urgently and isolate until they receive a negative result.

Tier two exposure sites include Altona Gate Shopping Centre and many stores within the centre, BWS Millers Junction in Altona North, Woolworths Borrack Square Altona North, the Sunbury train line between West Footscray Station and North Melbourne Station, Carl’s Junior on Millers Road, Altona North, Chemist Warehouse Altona North, Woolworths Borrack Square Altona North, Woolworths Williamstown, and Augustus Gelatery Yarraville on Somerville Road.
