Altona trio’s big month

A big month for Altona Hockey trio Cooper Burns, Connar Otterbach and Nye Roberts has just continued.

The trio were part of HC Melbourne premiership side in the Hockey One competition.

Melbourne beat the Tassie Tigers, 3-1, in the grand final to make it back-to-back titles.

Burns and Otterbach were this week named in the Australian men’s national high performance program.

The pair both made their Australian debuts earlier this year, as they both stepped on the pitch together in the same game.

From the pitches at Altona, through to state programs, Altona’s senior side, under-age Australian teams and Hockey One League, the pair have done it all together.

Roberts has been named in the senior performance program, which is one tier below the national high performance squad.

It’s been a big couple of months for Altona layers, with Kade Leigh representing Australia at the Junior World Cup.
