The Druids sealed its finals spot in Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division with a win against Yarraville Club. The Clubbers made 6-151 from their overs, with the Druids finishing 4-152 in reply, making the runs with more than six overs to spare. The win moves the Druids to third. For the Clubbers, who now sit in fourth, a win in the final round will be enough for them to play finals.

Bowls

Altona had a mixed weekend in Bowls Victoria weekend pennant premier division. On Saturday, it came away with the points against Lilydale. The teams split the rinks, but Altona came away with the win 73 (14)-64 (4). Ben Twist and Nathan Wilson were the winning skips for Altona. On Sunday, Altona lost to Deer Park, 75 (14)-72 (4). Yarraville Footscray had a 99 (16)-64 (2) win against Mentone on Saturday, before losing a thriller on Sunday to MCC, losing 73 (14)-72 (4).

Women’s cricket

Williamstown CYMS finished its Cricket Victoria Community Cricket north-west (B) season with a loss to Sydenham-Hillside on Sunday. The CYs were bowled out for 136 with Elizabeth Howell making 66 not out. The Storm made 5-137 in reply to take the win. The CYs finish the season in ninth. In the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association women’s competition, both Gellibrand teams will play finals after finishing third and fourth. Barkly Street-Druids and West Newport-Doutta Stars will play finals in division 4.

Baseball

Newport Rams and Williamstown Wolves were both on the winners list in Baseball Victoria summer league men’s division 2 on Sunday. Ladder leaders Newport Rams, had a 7-3 win against Moorabbin, while the Wolves had a 5-3 win against Doncaster. The Wolves sit sixth, with four rounds remaining. In division 3, Footscray lost 11-3 to Chelsea.
