WDCA: West Newport still doesn’t know how to lose

WEST Newport has kept its unbeaten record intact with a successful run chase against bottom-of-the-ladder Gellibrand in the Williamstown and District Cricket Association A1 turf at Loft Reserve on Saturday.

Wests easily passed their target of 208 and remain one of two unbeaten clubs. They were served well by a 159-run partnership between Nick Jensen (77no) and Trent Jones (78no).

The other undefeated team in the WDCA’s top flight is Williamstown Imperials, who hunted down Newport-Digman’s 144, winning by five wickets with Ryan Hinton top-scoring with 46 at Bryan Martyn Oval.

Williamstown Colts will stay in the top four for another fortnight despite a two-wicket loss to Wyndhamvale.
