Regional Rail Link: Footscray’s train pain helps deliver $40m worth of work

A shutdown of rail lines over the Christmas-New Year period for Regional Rail Link works has delivered $40 million worth of infrastructure.

State Transport Minister Terry Mulder said more than 1000 workers had put in 230,000 hours of work, including installing sections of the new Albert Street bridge in Footscray, construction works at West Footscray and Footscray stations, and removing the Rising Sun footbridge.
