Courage. Mateship. Sacrifice. The enduring spirit of the Diggers was commemorated on Remembrance Day at services held across Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong.

About 50 people attended the service at Williamstown cenotaph, among them veterans from World War II, such as Dave Hagger, and other conflicts, and many from younger generations.

Bugler Allan Hessey played The Last Post as a sombre gathering collectively bowed its head in a minute’s silence.
