Bright students ready to walk and ride to school

Kingsville Primary School pupils got into the spirit of a recent road safety event by dressing brightly for their trip to school.

As part of the Be Bright, Be Visible – Ride and Walk to School campaign, everyone was encouraged to wear something bright or fluorescent while walking or wheeling their way to and from school.

The highly coveted Golden Shoe and Golden Bicycle trophies were up for grabs for the grades with the highest proportion of brightly coloured ‘Walkers’ or ‘Wheelers’.

The event follows the introduction earlier this year of new school crossing time curfews that ban non-local trucks from using Somerville Road during weekday school crossing times.
